Billy Greer

Billy Ray Greer was born in Cleveland, Ohio.  He began taking drum lessons when he was 8 and playing professionally at the

age of 13 in a band called the Strangers.  A year later, the Strangers lost their lead singer.  The band decided to ask

Billy Ray to handle the lead singing duties and the band was rebranded as East Wind.  East Wind played with many famous bands

in the 60’s such as The James Gang with Glenn Schwartz and Joe Walsh, Tommy James and the Shondells, The Buckinghams,

The Box Tops, Cheech and Chong, Music Machine, The Left Bank, Iron Butterfly and the Grass Roots.  Billy Ray is currently

the lead singer and also enjoys singing harmony with the other band members.  His 5 octave range enables him to sing a

variety of songs from funk to rock and roll.
